Thanks for your input! Looks like I understood the sentences by themselves correctly, but missed the implication that the guy went into the area. Makes sense now. Lol I spent so long trying to figure out what I missed in the 後ろ line; no wonder I couldn't find anything, cause I'd actually understood that line accurately lol
