"My suit isn't dry" should be "My dry suit isn't here"
It's a "dry suit", designed to keep the body dry while diving, and protect it from the cold. I'm guessing he was going to use it to escape by swimming.
Fun fact: there's also the so-called "wet suit", which is similar to a dry suit, but doesn't cover the feet, hands, or head. Water can easily get in, hence it's "wet". It also protects from cold water, though not as well as a dry suit.
