Mitsuha: "I refuse."
Nobles: "Insolent! Catch her!"
What the heck??? Why did they change their tune so quickly just from that little thing? Wasn't she the one that saved their country with overwhelming firepower? Did those nobles get hit on the head or something?
She was pretty rude towards the King. She had no reason to refuse him, didn't provide one either, and simply walked away without a word.
To be fair, "catch her" does sound weird considering she did save the country. I would've expected "What?! How insolent!" at most.
Sometimes, I get the feeling the author (or Mitsuha) simply wants to throw random "but I refuse" Jojo references, without thinking about etiquette.
Even if she wanted to surprise everyone with the boy's return, she could've just replied with: "That won't be necessary, open the door" instead of "I refuse".
@Doomer
the nobles are actors ready for all to appear perfect in front of their king.
in addition there is the nationalist dimension and the king has a divine place in the herarchy
It's a bit like the little chef in the companies who sucks the dick of their superior's dick at every possible opportunity
@4stjack Yeah, the author is not super great at keeping a suspension of disbelief. Ever since the start where Mitsuha was like, "I won't ruin the ways of this world with my own world!" it's been downhill, to the point where the author finally had to be like, "lol, jk!" Switched tone and direction to go all out instead... but along the way there are just too many moments where either the people of the other world should be legit questioning Mitsuha and freaked out to moments where the mercenaries from our world should have been like, "Uh, how did you teleport yourself and us? What are you talking about monsters? This isn't even earth? Holy shit, why are there dragons and monsters?" which I assume at some point they're going to have to address.
It's still an entertaining story, otherwise I wouldn't have read this far, but just thinking about how much gets overlooked or is ignored... eh, well, it's just another isekai so not really worth thinking about too much, I guess. Kind of a staple of the genre at this point, how much things fall apart if you look at any of them rationally.
damn lolicon alexis-sama. I'm surprised a daughter older than 15 is still in the country especially 25. She isn't married off to a foreign country or to a duke or earl
