Say Hello to Black Jack

Honestly one of the most underrated medical drama mangas out there. A lot of struggle with the main character, and also a lot of progression. The MC complains and is a scared cat, but it's all within the realm of reality and proper in it's response of the situation. Would recommend. Good story and brings up great real world issues.

This is an incredible manga, but do keep in mind that the final chapter isn't the actual "end." There's a sequel manga that picks up right away as if it's the same story.

Greyvenn, there's little in common with Black Jack other than the profession and the critique of it, approached in a very different way.

I read this a few years ago and think about it a lot.

Many in the US want a different health care system, and certainly, it should be improved. But let's look at how things are from the inside in other places before we idealize them. Japan's problems, featured prominently in this, shouldn't be ignored. I've read articles backing some of the content up and others that add to the mess. Some are because of the mix of system + culture but there is probably a bit of this in similar systems around the world. Unfortunately I can't help but feel that Japan has a monster that can't be tamed.

Not all was critical of the system, though, and there is social commentary.

Some chapters packed a lot of punch with hammy fists, but that's just a matter of taste. It was a bit much for me. Also, the art is rather unpleasant but the artist isn't terrible. I'd be hesitant to recommend because of these things but I'd also like if more people read this.

This is the manga that has scared me the most, ever, and it isn´t even about horror.

The reality that is health care is one that i and probably a lot of people are very happy to ignore for as long is possible, and this manga just grabs it and beats my face with it over and over again.

The art is fantastic, some of the most expressive faces i´ve ever seen, all to make this stories even harder to swallow.

Definitely a masterpiece, hope i can read the sequel at some point.
