@Richman this is true in the US. They only have a small chance to actually be strong enough to lift anything. Nearly every claw machine in the US is rigged like this.

In Japan they're 100% consistent by law.

Sorry I know your comment is a month old but idk those crane games in Japan are tricky too lol

When I went to a small arcade in a shopping center Japan with some friends one of them tried the crane game. He kept losing/"almost" getting it and every time he lost they'd add another prize he could get if he got the one in the machine. He never actually got it from that one but they ended up just letting him buy all of the stuff lol which probably wasn't a great deal.

On the other hand, the ones at Round 1 arcades are pretty easy to get once you know how to push the prizes. Still a money sink tho
