I wonder whether a non-harem end was planned either way. Because then I really wonder why the structure seemed to be to go after one school girl after another, only for in the end that part to not really go anywhere.

Either way, it had it's moments and it was a nice concept. I think in retrospect, if someone did a 2.0 of it so to say, they should have brought the council and the other vamps in earlier, to mix things up; or give it a bit more "plot" in some other way (conmpare also v4mp3€rZ).

For ppl who want to know, yeah it was axed, the author said it himself at the end of the third book (i have it) in the bonus content.
The first book really didn't sell well, so it was cancelled just after the 2nd book was ready, so everything after chapter 16 is rushed to end it with the third book.

Kinda sad this wasn't popular in japan, because the story was nice and could easily go for 7 books, according to the author wish.
