Well, yeah. In the first chapter, the priest was already talking about killing the holy maiden if her power could not be controlled, so it's a obvious red flag for the future, and the Mc will probably have to fight the church to protect his waifu.

Well, by all means; I seriously think this guy's gonna be an a-hole.
Read too much and these types of characters appear ever so often; decorated in bright silver armor, declaring power and authority and a smug shitty look in the face.

...I'm trying to decide if I should just stop reading here. Repentant assassin(?) and holy-maiden romance in a small town, I'm totally down for. If it gets dramatic after that and they have to contend with an oppressive corrupt empire that's out after them, or some such? I can be down for that sort of good old action-suspense, too.

But a comedy (romcom) with a really really annoying hero making loud noises and being obnoxious and ruining a perfectly nice atmosphere they had going? That... sounds horrible, frankly.
