Seitokai Yakuindomo - Vol. 17 Ch. 475

Assuming it's just their break time which is usually at lunch (12:00) and their classes that start (8:30) Tsuda gained a new harem member in less than 4 hours!!!

The comment at the bottom of the last page - voicing the thoughts of us readers.

@Pupwa Time doesn't progress in this series and the characters are always stuck in the same school year. Of course, she'll never leave ?

And is kissing a norm way to greet others in any of English-speaking countries? I thought that stereotype only applied to France in manga.

I see this in manga way too often, but where the fk do people kiss or hug someone they just met as a greeting?

@HungryIm Not really, when Tsuda first entered he's a first year and then Kotomi joined one year later, so a year has passed. But yes, at this point the time won't be able to move without removing Shino & Aria, unless the author comes up with some way to keep them around

Why is American exchange students or any other exchange students never depicted realistically nor given a plausible name? They could just search American exchange students photos and most popular American first name and last name. If comics could give Asian exchange students a realistic depiction (awkward, shy and look like Asian), why can't manga do the same?

Rather than ask why manga writers can't give American characters a "plausible name", maybe ask yourself why you find names that aren't of Anglo-Saxon derivation implausible?

(My reaction isn't entirely to this comment; I recently saw a bunch of people in the comments on Flying Witch complain about an American character with the surname "Flores". It's worth noting that two of the ten most common American surnames are Garcia and Rodriguez.)

Our exchange student here — the transliteration is changed by ch480 to Parry Copelin — is presumably named in a double reference: to Commodore Matthew Perry, whose forced opening of Japan in 1854 led to the Meiji Restoration, and to Ichigo Marshmallow character Ana Coppola, the little English girl who can't speak English.
