On the note of the demon king, uh, The humans attacked, then got their ASSES HANDED TO THEM ON A SILVER PLATTER. So obviously it was because the other person is evil incarnate. Right... All of a sudden the cheating to become pope no longer seems so out of place.

@icarushector It doesn't look like the actual chain/collar is shown but his teeth were all healed and it showed a glowing collar-like shape around the dragon's neck in 2 panels so he was definitely tamed, otherwise he wouldn't have any teeth right now.

I mean, to be fair, the dragon WAS being a riproaring asshole, and judging from how he treated the ogre after he clobbered him, he was genuinely unaware that monsters weren't just savage beasts. Dude seems nice enough on the whole, just not afraid of shitting on anyone that tries to fuck with him, which I can respect.
