There probably is an Oracle or magic spell to find the hero, it's a common fantasy trope and given this world runs on what your class is, deciphering class is very important. As for the priestess, I'm really questioning why her first instinct was to report on the man who saved her, but other than that, the mistake of Monster Tamer = Demon Lord is not her fault but of the nation's history. The nation believed the ancient monster tamer that protected the elves was the Demon Lord after the ancient tamer fucked up their nation. It does make sense that the demon lord and the monster tamer are confused as the Demon Lord makes monsters and the Tamer tames. To outsiders, all they see for both is "controlling monsters"

@IronicWeeabo The king actually seems fairly okay. At least no more corrupt than every other human in this world (and fear does lead to bad decisions). I think the root problem is the prime minister. The king didn’t want to do anything to the family. Hopefully it doesn’t turn into that generic “puppet” king trope.

It was unsettling as hell to see a human, who explicitly had his own mind, be basically brainwashed and enslaved. Oh, he's happy, so it's all fine. No, I'm pretty completely certain that the only reason he showed happiness was because he was brainwashed. No way in hell would he have shown that kind of response beforehand, as indicated by all of his actions beforehand. I can guarantee that you wouldn't see this kind of thing happen if it were a female character unless this were explicitly something like a rape series.

The emperor is clearly referring to the priest's report as something that came way before the current events, which means that prior to the current event they didn't have anything against the MC.
Meaning, the priest did not foment this idea that the MC is a monster that should be killed, she merely reported to her superiors about how she was saved, and who saved her.

The entire MC is a Demon King mentality clearly came from the adventurer group, the King was guided into thiking the MC is a Demon Lord because of how similar the description the adventurer's brought of this alledged DK was to the Priest's report of an adventurer who could tame monsters. Stop pinning the blame on the priest when she literally did nothing but her job while clearly praising the adventurer who saved her.
