I'm curious as to why most of these Japanese people paint "goddess" as pure white figures... Like Ight man it's what your country offers you so you take a liking to it, I'm just curious as to why they go with like pure white as if she's casper the friendly goddess. I even saw one of these isekais say she was "almost translucent"... My man's had a ghost preference or something cause who would want that.

@BasicEden: It's nothing new in human culture to portray divine/holy/pure/innocent figures with lots of white as their color motif.

@MarqFJA87 Appreciate the information, I just always find it weird with Japanese culture specifically (in modern times) because In modern time USA being pale white is not the standard for beauty (actually the opposite, all the white girls I've known want to be darker) yet in Japan it's still seen as the standard for beauty... The paler you are the more beauty radiates from you apparently.

@BasicEden: Well, IIRC it dates back to the oldest myths about the goddess Amaterasu, who is described as having a "white" face that's so beautiful it's a crucial element of the gods' ploy to lure her out of self-imposed exile.
