I can't help but thinking that this goddess is like Aqua, but evil... given how suspicious she is. Imma guess there's some sort of misunderstanding and the hero is the good guy after all.
@sunsetchaos: What are you talking about? The first one shows the hero from the back, the second one doesn't show anything below the shoulder (the chest is obscured by the horizontally held sword).
@sunsetchaos: ... Okay, first, that's indeed a man. Second, that's obviously an image of the MC's reincarnated self as an adult, not only because he shares the white/silver/grey hair color but because of the dialogue line being directly connected to the one in the immediately preceding page's last panel, which depicts his original self.
@MarqFJA87 Idk the artist just made it look really feminine. Looks like one of those short haired cool beauty assassin or in this case (anti?)hero adult woman, an aneki type character you'd find in other manga/anime. Especially the head with the lips, eyes, earring, jawline, etc. Also, the hair is different from his image on the next page, white/silver vs black, and the sideway/diagonal bang. Overall, it's like the polar opposite of the MC.
Also, when the goddess said "please assassinate the strongest being, the hero" normally we'd expect to see a glimpse of the powerful antagonist, the hero. It would make sense for the image to be the hero, just like it would in any other manga.
Synergy!? My god, is this an actual RPG where picking the right combination of skills is what makes the difference? I'm used to levels being the only thing that matters, usually, and skills tend to get picked for you.
This protag is surprisingly good so far. With a title like 'Sekai Saikyou no Assassin' (World's Best Assassin or something), I was half-expecting a total edgelord protag.
I guess she doesn't get to pick the hero? Seems like she is getting some sort of future information. Or they are just used to heroes doing this afterward in this setting.
