So rather than having the usual multiple chapter fight scene, he basically 'assassinate' the spear dude in a duel.

He literally threw a weapon(I think the sword in the last page) into a the sky, have a small talk with the spear dude, and right after the duel start, the sword fell on him and killing him in the process.

It was a couple months ago so my memories is a bit spotty, I might miss some details.

It depends. Usually assassins tend to be glass cannons/ fragile speedsters who try to kill the target before they are detected or deal a ton of damage with a single attack that has a large amount of cooldown time and are extremely vulnerable if they fail to nag the the kill.
