oh definitely she helped to start it but the author went through the point of pointing out that the Shrine maiden went off on her own and as I stated Miss twintails still shares some blame being in the same party and not trying to curb it.Not to mention she pretty much admits to doing it on page 25

it should be a reflexsive reaction to tell the lizard with the shield to block in front and activate guard-> recovery-> attack on her.

2nd day 3 rd encounter and he is still going in without any prep.
you know what ? i scared a monk in real live from behind while he was playing a game, his reaction was hammering every single one of his instant skills before jumping
im not expecting that level of training but at the very least the reaction you see an enemy cast you support on your vanguard thief with the shield and have her engage in a block between you snd the threat
