Sekai Saikyou no Kouei: Meikyuukoku no Shinjin Tansakusha - Vol. 3 Ch. 14 - The Gatekeeper

Let's be honest, this happens because the DPS didn't aggro properly and the Tank doesn't even think to protect rearguard. Everyone was given a barrier but none of them think "of fuck, our support can't cast it on himself". If literally anyone stand infront of him, the barrier would've somewhat protected him too. Typical Raid mentality to be too focused on attacking that nobody bothered to rotate DPS and have Tank actually Tank damage. I mean for crying out loud they have 3 support including MC, at the very least 2 of them should've understand, but no. REMEMBER GUYS, FORMATION AND ROTATION.
Well the MC's also at fault, from the previous chapters it's heavily shown that he still don't understand the importance of a support (AKA himself) survival. They should really find a Tank who's job is to protect the MC.

@Serelanordir the game is still pretty active and updated regularly (the devs even mentioned that they're going to add another class) on Japanese, Korean, NA, and SEA server. Chrerry Credits isn't responsible for the SEA server anymore, since Eyedentity is now directly hosting every server. Honestly if you have like a friend or two, it's a great time to play again. Since it's different server now, you'll probably have to start from the beginning, but honestly lvling to end game isn't really that hard since they boosted EXP greatly for early to mid game.

@naeon: The main point of this story is that none of the Main Characters know or have that much experience with Gaming, and MC's class is the first one of its kind, which means there is no prior info regarding it, and none have yet noticed that MC's barrier skills don't apply on him, unless a party member is close to him (and i don't think MC yet mentioned about that fact to anyone yet).

@CaptainMorgan In a perfect world (not the game) tank would aggro all the time. But sadly no game allow you to do that. Aggro in MMOs usually follows whoever deals the most damage, unless there's a skill that let's you pull aggro (even then it would only last for so long). So usually DPS and Tank would have to rotate aggro.

@Morose yeah i wasn't actually mad or pissed. The author have set up that while the system is like a game but most people aren't that familiar with it, and it's pretty obvious that the main crew lacks combat experiences to fight as party. It's just me having flashback of raiding in MMOs.

Ah trauma of support roles finally popped up. They help the party but can't help themselves when targeted.

To be honest, from the previous chapters when they were fighting the tyrant. The tyrant did used two AOE attacks, the hand slam shockwave and the voice attack BUT the reason why he was safe was because someone from the vanguard was in front of him like misaki when she was not in the party and still did not take the damage because she was next to a vanguard. In this case, no one was next to him to take the hit for him.

They don't need a tank, they need a vanguard to be in front of him and shield him from damage.

Looks like Rearguard-kun is gonna need a "Maiden's Embrace" ala Goblin Slayer to heal that wound. With 5 girls, it should be 5 times as effective.

@Beastwithin
Well to be fair, as far as I know, it's the raw release that is slow. The english version already managed to catch up with the raw.

iam a japanese mc so i can explain my skills at length in combat against a super powerful enemy that could potentially wipe us out the moment we are bit carefully but obviously discounting the few moments where everyone turns their back to the enemy because i explain my skill because that wouldnt be fair
also ofc am i nit stupid enough to explain my new skills before because that would ruin the surprise also since im a pussy mc i am liable to forgett to use them and if they find out that would be embaressing....

-.-.-.+
sometimes i wish authors wouldnt treat their reader like 3 year olds that swallow every bs lie you feed them

This is what happens when you're teammates are barely worth a damn and you are forced to carry the team. You go out first.
