@cor3zone Still rape even if one doesn't take it seriously. Imagine this, one of the demi girls rape him but brainwash him to think otherwise, its still rape since they took advantage of him without consent (whether or not he "takes it seriously" just means he's messed up in the head or in denial)
@Afrobandit If he has his will taken from him, absolutely rape. MC hasn't suffered that though. He has full control of his mind, at least before and after the act. He's still never once thought 'this is rape' or 'I hate this'. If the 'victim' knows what happened but still doesn't particularly mind, I don't think rape is an accurate term.
Technically, it's absolutely rape. The definition is basically 'sexual act without consent', which this clearly is. Just, MC doesn't hate it, so I don't know if he considers it rape.
@Di3GO95 - Exactly. First and foremost, there are people that genuinely think because it's a comedy and lighthearted outside of those scenes, that it automatically makes the manga okay for the forced sex/rape NOT to be taken seriously and in fact laugh at it.
But as you said, despite what I said above, if it was a GUY doing this to a helpless girl, those same people would be freaking out even worse than the people triggered about this little lad being raped. The double standard about this kind of scenario, whether in manga or in reality itself, is ridiculous.
@Di3GO95 If nothing else changed, like MCs thoughts on the matter, you're wrong about me at least. I don't care about gender, rape is rape. If the victim understands rape as a concept, has full control of their mind and is aware about what happened, but doesn't consider it rape I don't consider it rape.
@cor3zone rape doesn't depend on the idea that has each one about it. Rape is sex without consent, doesn't matter that the victim doesn't consider it as such. In this manga, the MC falls sleep, and when he wakes up, he has had sex without his consent. That's rape, doesn't matter what mc, you, me or anybody think about it.
What I meant in my first comment, is that many of the people that laughs at this, and that even doesn't consider this as rape... If this manga was with a female MC, they would have dropped it, said that it was rape, disgusting, and rated 2-3 (being generous).
@Di3GO95 I disagree. If the 'victim' is fully able and free to report the rape but doesn't, it shows they don't really mind. Technically and legally it is rape, but if neither side has a problem with it it's not really a crime. No objection or apprehension implies consent. MCs strongest complaint (about the sex) so far was "I'm not ready", but then he has basically no problems with it after the deed.
I think the 'mother candidates' are all horrible people, and MC is pretty weird. I just find the definition of the term 'rape' lacking for this situation. Rape is categorically a crime, but if the victim accepts it willingly after the fact it shouldn't really be a crime.
You're probably right about a lot of people. I never laughed about this, and would feel exactly the same regardless if the genders were swapped. So, you're wrong in my case.
@cor3zone So if your girlfriend tells you she isn't ready for sex and you fuck her in her sleep, there's no issue there? The manga doesn't even confirm that the MC knows he was raped.
