Chp 29 reveals the leather jacket guy was actually picked up by Shizuko's family years ago when they found him on the roadside, badly injured, wearing Sengoku era soldier gear and armed with a samurai sword. It's implied he's a Sengoku native who somehow traveled to the future after a near-death event of sorts.

Well, she might not even get home. And if she does, it could just be to her own timeline without any of her meddling. We don’t know how the time travel works here yet...
Nobunaga surving would have interesting ramifications; though I would assume Japan would still be united.
