Sengoku Komachi Kuroutan: Noukou Giga - Vol. 7 Ch. 35 - Identity

didn't guns already exist by the time of oda nobunaga? so a modern-timers knowledge of aerodynamics, rifling, and optics will be massive. especially rifling. and depending on how much he knows, he could go farther. with things such as smokeless powder. and cartridge based bullets

@1234muse although they'd reach into the problem of lacking the industrial base that would allow for all 3 of those things to be of any use.

I'm not gonna surprise anymore if oda army have hand grenade, flame thrower, gatling gun, etc in next chapter lol

@seittan In English it'd be read as someone's titles before their name.

So it'd go something like:

Lieutenant General of the Imperial Guard, Minister of (whatever his post is), His Lordship (or actual rank equivalent) the Commander in Chief of the Punitive Expedition, Cousin (or actual relation) to the Emperor, Ashikaga Yoshiteru.

@1234muse building off what @aceasulter said, to build rifled barrels, you'll first need the tools to make the rifling tool. Not to mention that black powder fouls up the grooves easily, so you either research a different rifling method, or you refine black powder into basic gunpowder. Both of which will require more intermediate tools and raw materials to research, never mind producing.

So at the very least, you'll need to make a tool, that can mass produce the rifling tool, in order to mass produce rifled barrels, while simultaneously having the workforce and workshops to create the barrels to be rifled in the first place, on top of having something better than basic black powder, and this is just to produce rifled barrels by hand. I read somewhere that in the 18th century a gunsmith working by hand, could make about 12 rifle barrels in a year.

If you want enough barrels to outfit an entire army, that'd first require creating a machine to make the barrels, along with the prerequisite tools to make the machine's parts, assuming the iron/steel even exists for the machine. And that's just for the barrel itself. What about the stock? What about the bullets? Or the firing mechanism?

It's easy to introduce modern tech to "ancient" times, but that knowledge may not be able to produce results, if the industrial base isn't there.

I forgot how ham pre-modern Japanese names got trying to attach all their past notable family ties

Congrats on passing your defense!!!
And as always, thank you so much for the update!!

Long titles are a staple of nobility. The more noble you are, the longer the title, lolz.

Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of Her other Realms and Territories Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith

Long-as title aside, the important takeaway is that Ashimitsu's an actual historical figure.

Namely that he's Ashikaga Yoshiteru; the 13th Ashikaga shogun; who got assassinated when his enemies didn't like his push for fully reclaiming shogunate authority over that of the warlords.

God darn it ashimitsu. If you wish for her wellbeing, don't bring overpowered military knowledge to where she is!

Good god that's a long ass name.
Also this just got 10 times more interesting

hmm, what will Nobunaga do to manipulate Ashimitsu undying loyalty to Shizuko in which hesitating to introduce modern arms?
