for people asking why the soldiers are weak, it's like they are out of touch. Most of the soldiers sent were like new recruits and only 30ish were somewhat capable, but even then when mc's gang sees them, they know right away that it won't go well. They didn't even bring any sorcerers to the fight. My guess is, that they were used to just fighting the weak monsters in the area and that they've never encountered a high level monster before. They had not even bothered doing their research of it either.

Well, the cause of his rage it's just his pride being hurt for being defeated and after that, saved. He got the target right, but his reasons are the wrong ones.
