I agree about MC always avoiding problems will not solve the problem. And the story will be boring quickly.

I also agree the twins are innocent. But that does not mean other people think so. In the previous panel there had been a lot of clues that the twins were brought to the city would bring unnecessary problems.

And the ones I don't like the most MC don't realize, even though it's so obvious. His friends have told the MC about why twins are hated.
At least I want the MC to realize it and look for a temporary solution. For example, giving different clothes and hats. Maybe the gatekeeper will realize it, but not so with the city residents. At least city residents find it hard to realize they are twins except look closely.
