When you get older, it gets more difficult to stay passionate about something. It comes with the growing realization that you might just be mediocre. As senpai has said, "you don't need to be good at it".

Being able to love doing something while also sucking at it is something I can't honestly do for so long.

Something tells me this is the author's true sentiments, as most good artists afaik are often their own harshest critics.
