Everything about this is literally god or whoever else telling them to stop messing around and just get together. I bet even the past incident in senpai's life, whatever the fortune is no doubt accurate on, is a subtle lesson for him. Wouldn't be surprised if a kouhai/senpai in school or something he was attached to got snatched away.
