@crokto I'm in the same boat. I always have trouble knowing/remembering if that type of black coat uniform is supposed to be Middle School or High School.
I SEEMED to remember he was in MS, so I was pegging him for 14-15.

There's also the possibility of the TL messing up, ofc, but if he say's he's using mostly MTL, there's no way it got "High School wrong", so... he's in fact around 16. Which means, legal.

Okay, now that i've looked it up, i see that gakuran isn't reserved for middle school boys (as i've usually noticed it in anime/manga) and is also worn by boys in some Japanese high schools. @Tatherwood, @crokto, I guess we assumed it wrong all along.

I wonder what's the acceptable age gap for those who were/are creeped out by this ship?

For the "acceptable age gap"... I think there's a formula? Like "add 7 and divide by 2" or some such fuckery. Never paid much attention, honestly, cause you can't win against those people. It's like Dumbfuckistanians saying you can't be attracted to a 17yo girl with the body of a full-fledged woman, and if you are you're a paedophile. They're right and you're wrong and that's it.

Personally, I go with laws. If it's above the age of consent, AND the older partner is not abusing, lying or otherwise manipulating the younger one, they can be happy ever after the way I see it.
Tbf, tho, Japan's kinda weird with the age of consent thing. Something about different for boys and girls, and different with marriage or non-marriage, and different with some other crap. But I'd say 16 is safe.
