In the light novel he was trying to teleport to Heine of the Flame but ended up going towards Belial who also has 'fire' in her title.

The issue with the teleporter is that it's not 100% safe until the space stabilizes. Meaning that they cant fully control the destination. In ch. 1, no.6 and alice ended up a couple thousand feet in the air...
