@Zephyr247 Yeah, unfortunately it was an off-screen convo... But based on the level of conversation Hibiki had with Nagato right beforehand, I'd like to think he recognized the error of his ways
@sopya_aa Yay, thank you! I also think it's a nice blend of happy things.
@dudewithmagic Totally agree. He really came out a star in the end, despite the intial widespread skepticism toward him.
@b4nji Honestly your comment made my day lol I've just been so sick of certain tropes/translations in manga. My goal when I started this was to make the translation as close to natural English as possible, because I think that makes for better reading.
@tempsventeux I’m SO happy someone asked lol. I love questions like this. This line was actually a super close Japanese to English translation.
The literal translation of the line じゃあパパはどう? is something like “well, how about papa?”
However, “papa” is used in Japanese like “daddy” is in English, so the overall gist of the line is close to the English I transcribed to it... I added the bit about “what if I call you” simply for context clarity.
This chapter was so beautiful! Finally, her father had a sincere and loving conversation with Ossan. And, with the unexpected help of Hibiki, we close with this reflection: knowing that you wouldn't have much time with your loved one, would you go back and choose someone else?
... No, we would just like to enjoy and cherish the time together even more! Ahh, my kokoro
Thank you for the wonderful translation!
Lmao am I the only one who would remain super salty and petty and demand that ass work to pay me back??? I don't think any emotion will be able to fill the void in my bank account from losing a several thousand dollar ring
