@gronkle: You also have to take into account the size difference in between humans and mice-sized creatures. (Not that. Take your mind out of the gutter.) Small mammals (and I believe this is also true for small marsupials) have a much higher metabolism. Mice do sleep every few hours and have a higher intake of food per hour in comparison to their body masses. I also believe the smaller the neural network, the faster the perception of time. 14h hours of mating is a few times longer for them. At least make that 14h x 3 of continuous mating for you. At least.
