I dunno man, if it's just fox ears coming in but you keep your human ones you'll look like those beastmen that always have an extra set of more or less useless ears for no reason in manga, so that'd sort of suck. Alternatively, if your human ones like disappear at the same time, that might be a disconcerting and uncomfortable experience for people.

Yeah having both ears is always a question most depictions get around that by never making characters have short hair where they’re ears would normally be visible
