I don’t see how they thought the king who loves his wife won’t notice how the way she looks at him, speaks to him, some small behavioral secrets/habits between him and her will suddenly change and/or the real girl won’t notice them.

I think this is more of a revenge story than hourglass since I feel the girl is more proactive maybe? Hourglass was just MC going with the flow and keeping out of trouble (she may have initiated some actions but I feel the MC is more active generally here)
