in response to @katanon, if he were a sniveling little shit along with tina with no combat training in his past (early) life, it's understandable he wouldn't know shit about who attacked his village. the demon would've never revealed himself and he would just go on thinking it was a horrible monster wave.

yep. he doesn't know that it's a demon behind all that. back then he only know that we got monster stampede, but that's about it.

In a way it's kinda make sense that he only prepare so much. but still, it kinda pisses me off. he barely made it dealing with just the monster, it's not an overwhelming victory despite that many years preparation

@a27wolf The problem is that he should be aware the Demons invaded Begonia in his past life using his village. Eric clearly knew about the demon's ability to manipulate monsters before he even died. Coupled with the fact that demons took over his village after a monster attack and then immediately invaded Begonia... it should be obvious the monsters didn't 'coincidentally' attack the village at the perfect time for demons right before they invaded Begonia.

On the other hand the fact he didn’t think of that means that monster stampede are just a common occurrence when monsters gather en mass.

@wanfai It shouldn't be a common occurrence since he lived 16 years so far without a single stampede. Please refer to ch8 pg9 where he realizes the monsters didn't gather by chance and already knows about demon red eyes controlling monsters. He knows they are specifically after the village behind the wall even though they should be ignoring obstacles as a stampede. Basically, Eric really can't connect the dots when everything is obvious.

To answer the question of why the MC didn't know about the demons... it's because in his past life, the MC couldn't analyses the situation (since everyone was just dying and he was running) and the demon didn't show himself... this time, since the MC and his dad were able to fight off most of them, the demon felt like actually showing himself...
