It's stated pretty clearly that the reason the MC won was that he had "friends" to back him up, While the demon king did not.
Again it's not like one of those cringe moments in manga/ anime where the MC gets a power boost out of nowhere, it was just the fact the MC had more people...
So yeah...
Does teamwork count as friendship? I would say yes, but on the other hand, I don´t want to because people get super butthurt as soon as they hear the words " power of friendship" regardless of meaning.

hmm wonder what happens next. Maybe Irene gonna be the next king/queen or some shit and they fight. MC's past knowledge probably have nothing to do with whats gonna happen next as this is a huge difference from his past timeline

@LoliNep Technically, it's not all that explained well in the manga.
He was just a 'king' of a country. The actual "leader" of the demons isn't/wasn't him nor was it Irene's father. They have skipped a lot of other details about the MC to, but I think they might end up putting them in as "flashbacks" or something, so I won't spoil anything else.
