I don't understand why the mangaka still did not deal with the part where they explain why the girl is there. In chapter 6 or 7 it was said that our mc is keeping her with him, but next chapter it suddenly turns into something new. I find that rather strange.

That's why the fatso is still alive, he's got better survival instincts than you do. He knows a true survivor (the prez) when he sees her.

The author uses the prez as her profile icon on places like Twitter btw, so she's obviously her favorite and won't ever die. :^)
