Shiboritoranaide, Onna Shounin-san - Vol. 1 Ch. 6.1 - Urn of Confinement Part 1

Oh boy..that was quite the chapter. Thanks for picking this up and for going through the extra effort of redoing the earlier chapters! I'm glad the original scanlator introduced this manga to us, but the quality of scanlations definitely left something to be desired.

@OtokoNoKozou That is because this group is using google translate.
The other scanlator of this series just have up to ch 4.
And from the look of it, it is going to be a slow release to read a better translation.

You can wait that group to update new chapters.
I rather wait than reading this garbage translation.

@Chumbucket Wow, calm down there my friend. You are reading and understanding, for free. There's no need to call the translation garbage even if you don't like it. Just like @chronostriker1 said, how about saying what the issues are?

Don't be a bad boy just because. That's just being a d*ck.

@macarroiz
Did you just seriously asked "What the issues with google translate"?
If you weren't joking, I will do myself some favor to not explaining it.

FYI, I can do google translate myself. Better than this I'd say.
Sorry if I call this garbage. When it's bad, it's bad. No more, no less.

Just a tip since you are that oblivious; Ch 5, page 3.
Connie teasing Rabi and Rabi reply with "Alright!!" when he's against.

いいってば!!

If you really a fans of Anime & Manga, you know straight away what this mean.
Don't need garbage google for that.

@Chumbucket That literally has the same context. Also that wasn't translated with google translate it was done with deepl; Its semantics but I figured you'd want more context. I'm more than willing to change things if pointed out as long as the change is meaningful. Fadreus's translation is more literal as he is learning both Japanese and English and that's fine. Our is geared towards a more Americanized audience; We do localization as well as translation and yes we are using machines for the heavy lifting our PR person is learning JP so he can correct some of it but we rely on others to point out issues.

If you really a fans of Anime & Manga, you know straight away what this mean.
Not really cause, I don't understand Japanese... So how would I.

As I said Frad's is totally a valid choice to use and if you enjoy that more please read his. If you have constructive criticism we are totally willing to hear and if someone wants to TL for us we will totally accept that help. For the three of us in our group it's a labor of love because we like the artist and this story and will continue to work on it as long as the story goes on without an official translation.

TL;DR いいってば!! doesn't say "Alright" or "Okay". This only true for いい part. Your so-not-google-translate ignoring the later part just like google, literally.

いいってば!! says "It's okay" I said because of て.

Far from your "Literally has the same context". It's not even close in that situation.

This little things that makes up the "character" in which @OtokoNoKou is saying " but the quality of scanlations definitely left something to be desired."

Based on the raws, you guys are the one doing the literal translation while the other version doing a good job conveying it properly despite the grammar. The conversation is more "alive" than this "dead" dialog.

So, what I'm saying is if you're mute, don't sing. If you're amputee, don't run. If you don't know Japanese or have proper translator, don't translate. Imagine Avril becoming president and Trump become a singer. Just do what you can, if you can't then don't do it.

Get a proper translator if you truly like this series or you're gonna kill it slowly, trust me. It happens a lot with other series using google translate.

@Chumbucket to a native english speaker the context of that Alright is implied.
I honestly have no idea why you seem so hostile about this but if the meaning is not understood by you, thats ok please like I said continue with Fad's translation. Both Fadreus and I also don't agree on the translation because he also doesn't know what's implied by native english speakers, that's why we are not working together now. Again that's ok as we are both working towards different goals in the translation.

Also I don't want to speak for @OtokoNoKozou, but you misread his comment. He wasn't implying our translation was the one that left something to be desired...

As to the comment that we shouldn't do this, you are the loudest complainer, most people seem quite happy with our work... So na fuck that, we will keep doing this. Also if your mute, you literally can't sing, but with vocaloids they can, so your argument is not only insulting and dismissive, its ignorant.

@Chumbucket I see your point and Chrono's point. I say we drop this discussion as it seems a consensus will not be reached. If you don't like or agree with our work you don't have to read it or even comment. Just wait for another group to do it. We are doing this for free and out of our free time and consider this a labor of love so hostility or gross contrast to other groups is wholly unnecessary. I am currently helping Fadreus proofread his version so that you may enjoy that one. Please, in the future, if you have criticism, make it constructive. If not, then just don't say anything at all because you come off a bit hostile, and life's already rough enough without faceless internet people complaining about png comics.

It's funny how you can be so sure when you know nothing about Japanese.
Well, ignorant always like that.

Sure, lets drop this. I thought you guys accept feedback but doesn't seem like it.
Truly like Trump.
