So... it's a Ditto-slime, it seems like slime is slowly breaking their stereotypical image of a weak monster in a fantasy world through all these isekai mangas, and then future RPGs will have slimes not as weak monsters but as bosses/raids.

I wonder when will this weak/starter mob slime trope will end. Slime is not that weak tbh. The first slime impression that we have is the liquid/amoeba kind of slime where it will melt shit if the slime touches it. The image gradually changes when Akira Toriyama (dragon quest) create the iconic round slime image it turns into a weak starter mob. Its pretty frustrating to keep seeing this repetitive isekai slime trope starting from weak to OP. The slime are already OP from the start you fucking idiot, try to use it more efficiently like suffocating/melt the brain of the opponent for an example, once it goes into the body you fucking dead no matter how high your fucking level or OP the species are (monster like golem probably invulnerable but hey) . From time to time I do encounter these nasty attribute slime isekai series and its pretty interesting due to MC intellectual to adapt the situation using these kind of slime. The best example that I can find is Kamitachi ni Hirowareta Otoko series. The slime attributes in that series are fucking top notch. The slime are deadly as fuck.

@mismarca In Broke Mercenary, slimes are treated with caution too, at least the experienced ones knows the danger a slime can pose.

Whenever someone says slimes are weak, I immediately point them towards D&D. So many varieties of slimes, and all exist to make your time tough or break your weapons.

@mismarca : When japan gets over its obsession with dragon quest, so never. Though I have seen some series where they are not weak due to being very hard up to next to impossible to hurt with physical damage.

@7x9000 : Technically Gelatinous cubes are a form of slime, those were never throw away monsters. Though I always preferred rust monsters
