Shikkaku Mon no Saikyou Kenja - Sekai Saikyou no Kenja ga Sara ni Tsuyoku naru Tame ni Tensei Shimashita - Vol. 13 Ch. 40 - The Strongest Sage Revived

Alright, so his brother is stupid to the point that it's not even funny.

I get him being a bit dumb and arrogant, but he has to have an IQ pretty close to 0 and the maximum amount of arrogance possible to think of him as a "disappointment".

It's going past a "comedy" relief character to just unbelievably dumb.

@beepboop1 It's possible he simply doesn't know anything about what Matthias has done in the capital, but that would be incredibly strange in and of itself. It really doesn't make sense that he would view Matthias as the disappointment of the family, given what he knows of Matthias's early years, and the fact that Matthias has then gone on to save the kingdom multiple times after revolutionizing the kingdom's understanding of magic and combat, coupled with the amazing feats he has been able to accomplish. The author had better give some fantastic reasons for his brother's behavior or else this literally won't make any sense.

The idiot returns.

@beepboop1 : you have seen religious indoctrination, and how stuborn it makes people. his whole self worth and identity was based on a similar conditioning.

@AnonymousWeeaboo : he is a victim of the demons lies, and has their mark ranking stuck in his head. Dumb but 100% believable, with ample real world examples of the same level of stupidity.

@AnonymousWeeaboo As the knight said, his name is relatively unknown in rural areas, and judging by how the surrounding of his home looks at the start of the manga, I would say that Matthias's house is quite by the countryside.

Good thing no one was living or hunting in the mountains Matthias demolished... Right? RIGHT?

I was just thinking about this, but we haven't seen his family since the beginning, aren't we?

Edit: I was halfway reading when I write this, didn't expect they would be mentioned as soon I wrote it.

Ps: Iris messing up things in the background is never gets old. Also, she was departing with overfilled big ass bag, arrived with none lol

why the actual fuck would you make a sword that's only ability takes effect when you DIE? moreover, it basically turns you into a suicide bomber if you can't control your mana?

what a useless weapon that the author whipped out of his ass at the last possible second when he wrote himself into a corner

Kind of a shame this villain showed up so early, it was pretty enjoyable having him moving in the background without being there directly. I can't say I found anything about their confrontation satisfying, oh well, let's hope the next parts get better.

How is the idiot brother still so prideful? I would say he needs to be beaten. But that apparently didn't do anything.
