@Memi The problem is he already reached the maximum level that the first crest allows, which sadly wasn't strong enough to fight what he wanted to fight, which were the monsters across the "Universe", a realm beyond the one he was fighting in. The fourth crest is a slow-burn type when it comes to levelling up, so it allows more room for him to grow. Think of the first crest as a perk that allows him to level up faster but get less points to allocate to skills, while the fourth crest is the complete opposite. Eventually, he'll outgrow the augmentations the first crest allows.
