@mushroomsteel He was titan-ized by Zeke's spinal fluid, which gives him Beast Titan properties. In his case, his natural beast form would be bird-like. Once he ate the Jaw Titan, his titan form became complete and his wings grew in. So he's part Beast Titan (bird beast) and part Jaw Titan (strong beak).

Damn, so many assmad comments. Reminder that this plot is peak literature compared to what happened to:
Game of Thrones
Star Wars
Dr. Who
Though at least Star Wars is salvageable. And the books of a Song of Ice and Fire if George can be bothered to finish them.

And I think the original ending was going to be bleak and enigmatic. With rumbling and possible mind alteration. At least
here we can see what's happening, which is a plus.
