They are, but considering that the Eldians in Marley seemed to be the largest group outside of Paradis and all of them present (which seems to be the majority of them) were just turned into mindless titans, combined with the fact that all the military leaders on Paradis were also titanised or killed before the rumbling even happened, and that most of those left on Paradis now have little to no military experience, the Eldian race is fucked. Thanks to Eren, presumably everyone outside of Marley now knows who they are and where they came from and hates them even more, and they have no way left to defend themselves. Before he activated it, the rumbling was a deterrent since no-one could be sure how destrucive it could be. Now that it's been shown to fail, there's nothing stopping the rest of the world from acting.

People acting like this is Isayama shipping Eren with Mikasa when this is literally her holding a body-less head that's (at least to the audience and other characters) DEAD. This is just a really fucked up molestation of Eren's corpse by Mikasa if he really is completely gone
While I thought the smoke coming off the body was smart (and tragic, only part that got any response from me this chapter), the ending panels did feel rushed.
I think the 'fight' against Eren should've been its own chapter (with this one setting up the smoke, and maybe it ending with Eren screaming and turning all the Eldians on the hill into titans), chapter 139, and Isayama should've ended the series after the conflict on 140 (OCDer's rejoice).
Nonetheless, this has been my favorite manga by far. I find it hard to read other stuff since Isayama and Miura have spoiled me rotten when it comes to storytelling. Anyways... thoroughly enjoyed this ride, in spite of how it ends.
