I can't stand manga like this with a setup that only exists to create ecchi situations and nothing else. It's just lazy piss poor writing. Mother Goddess Izanami? Wtf? Such a trashy op female lead, perverted and sadistic but not in a way that's appealing. I never really got the whole "I have a scary or ugly face so nobody likes me" trope when they always look like normal people but maybe slightly gloomy or can't do a proper smile. That always seemed like an excuse to not come up with a real reason people wouldn't be interested in associating with the main character.

@CSmith327 To be fair, part of that is because of anime/manga's over simple style... but also because if they make the MC look too creepy to readers, they are less marketable.

Plus, in anime/manga, since the art is simpler (just eyes, nose, mouth), the characters that look ordinary can look cool as a drawing.

To us they are drawings, to people in the manga, they look more like real humans...

@deathmailrock I suppose... But still at least make him a hard to approach tsundereish delinquent or something. Don't get me wrong I like ecchi, but not when it's way too excessive and mindless. Ecchi is better when it's clever, subtle and sexy. That random groping in the middle of the street was just unnecessary.
