It was okay but I don't think they tied up some of the loose ends there.

Ah, I can't hate this manga. It gives you a constant feeling of "this isn't all that great" while also actually giving you a lot of the things you want to see and read... But, honestly, not many shôjo manga leave you with such a strong feeling of having read an action romance. :)
Despite its faults, I recommend this one.
