@kalton Yeah, very much the same setup.

A corrupt church enriching itself, making big plays for temporal power, abusing the power of excommunication etc.

Set against that a bunch of radicals who are also in part exploited to cut the church down to size by various bits of the nobility.

In between a bunch of believers who are in for some very bad times as religious and worldly conflicts escalate. "Bet, bet sonst kommt der Schwed" and all that.

Not gonna bother with this series atm its like spice wolf just I hated Holo cocky trash ass a goddess more like definitely useless trash

Well, the light novel is indeed not about overpowered goddess or battles, but more about romance, world building and economy... this is what Spice and Wolf is, so if you are here to see Holo or Cole kick assses in the god wolf form, well you wont have it, or a small dose of it here and there.
Personally i like the characters a lot but the story is indeed not for everyone and can be very boring and stagnant for the standard reader.
