Shishunki Renaissance David-kun

I think the thing that gets me with this series is that while it is parodying timeless works of art Kuroki Yuushin does a DAMN good job recreating those works in just as great a detail. Sure you could take the lazy way out and do a 'just good enough' rendition of David and the like, but Kuroki actually puts the full force of his creative and artistic muscle behind his works. Damn.

A lot better than a I thought it would be from the announcement.

I like the Renaissance references and the random use of Italian swears, pretty funny.

However, the other work revealed alongside it just looks... terrible, I can’t imagine that it would change my mind about anything.

This is golden. I mean, even without Manneken Pis this would be golden. The Jump logo gets sparkly eyes for god's sake!

Utter genius.

Dunno how I'm supposed to react about this one.
First, I kinda like the concept : art, ancient, and gag.
It has a lot of premises, something that can make you laugh out loud with pure comedy.
But, the author messed things up.
I expect silly without naughty elements.
Leave as the way it is. Don't you think it's a good idea?

Just, just how possible?
How many times have I seen it, it's clear that the joke only applies to teenager who always imagine, you know, because they don't know anything yet. It's hard to explain, but whatever, when teenagers always digest and speak many things.

I bet this won't last long.
The art is quite stunning when the execution starts, but maybe such humor that emphasizes expressions and stupid things like Dungeon Meshi and so on is much better.

Wow.

I actually really like this.

Maybe the humor is a little too dumb, but I love classical art and seeing it anthropomorphized is fun.

The concept is too dumb, yet it's actually working. This is actually hilarious.
By the way, anyone knows the reference in chapter 2 and 3?

With each chapter I just love it more and more.

I feel like lately the only shounen manga I’ve enjoyed are ones full of absurdist humor like this. It’s very refreshing.

Also I would never have expected for my waifu to be the Mona Lisa, of all things.

This is a lot better than I expected. Reminds me of the "Sekkou Boys" anime a little, but in a good way.
