Even if this was axed (and how many mangas aren't axed), the ending was still solid and satisfying. Really, not a bad ending, with a thread of hope for more in the future. This was a hell of a fun ride!

Well that was a disappointing way to end it. I was really loving this manga, so much I binged it in one day. In particular I liked how it wasn't just a slice-of-life "gotta maintain the status quo" thing and ACTUALLY built on the premise instead of just using it as an excuse for whacky shenanigans. Then the ending was literally everything I was glad the series was avoiding (well, for the most part. It had its moments but none quite this bad). "Oh wait, he doesn't go back because of a NEW war! So he still gets to be with his school friends a lot longer! Also bigger boobs! SO CRAZY AMIRITE?"

Like, I'd be okay with the whole "new war, gotta stay hidden for longer" thing if the series was still going, and if they had given an actual reason other than "lulz" for why they didn't simply change his appearence to something else.
