Shiyakusho - Vol. 2 Ch. 8 - Widower

We back boizzzz!
Whacha think of the font and sfx? (Yes, it took me that much time to search for the new fonts, whacha ganna do eh? Extort me more chapters with lolis?)

They couldn't leave it as a happy ending, they just had to end it with the body rotting...

It was sweet and all and they just had to add that last, depressing, part. It’s not nice...

Wow the chapter was really nice,it was going so bittersweet then boom, we see that his body was just left rotting cause no one is checking up on him, well shit.

prob buddha bc deceased seems like he just refused he was dead until u read tl note

Oh, i love every chapter from this series. welcome back!
Turns out that reading those Chillock translations were going to be useful eventually
Also, i guess Buddha could be used. Maybe later we find out there's a reason he uses that phrase? Dunno, maybe it will be related to him...
...possibly commiting suicide?

I'd go with buddha (or enlightened?). I had thought he got amnesia or couldn't accept his death when he keeps repeating it.

Thanks for the scanlations.
I would suggest using "Our clients are sacred" as a good compromise.

http://thezensite.com/ZenEssays/DogenStudies/Soto_Zen_in_Japan.html :
...the convention of calling the deceased a hotoke (literally, a Buddha) ... had its roots in indigenous ideas about the dead turning into deities. Buddhism ... incorporated this ... into its vocabulary within ... Japan ... the flexibility of the term "hotoke" ... should neither be completely thought of as equivalent to the Buddhist "Buddha" nor to the indigenous notion of a deified soul (tama). However, the term ... enjoys a flexibility to approximate both the Buddhist "Buddha" and the indigenous "tama."

wiki: Something that is sacred is ... considered worthy of spiritual respect or devotion; or inspiring awe or reverence...

That ending is really sad. I understand it was his personalities that made it so but still...

This chapter was so damn sad. I have a relative like this. Both a good person but no filter. Tries hard but people are turned off by the words.

Not sure what the wife meant by "I'll be at ease if maggots spring out of him"
She definitely didn't say that with any ill intent.
Is it "I'd be relieved if he turns sloppy because interacting with people will just make people hate him"?

Also, the fact that the wife was buried in a coffin filled with flowers while the man is left to rot. Subtle, this manga, subtle.
