One chapter ago we just went through currency. This world uses copper, silver and gold coins, and we learned (stupidly) that 1 copper = 100 yen ($1) and 1 silver = 10,000 yen ($100), despite the fact that it's impossible to have a conversion rate between economies that don't interact.

And then this chapter, they throw out copper, silver, gold AND yen and switch to gil? What the fuck is going on?
