Shuumatsu no Walküre - Vol. 9 Ch. 34 - Conflict of Interest

@phil777

Buddha is technically not a god, he is an enlightened being. He's like Hercules for Asian Mythology. He is the enlightened one like "Chakravartin". He was first human, for example.

@OsoJr

He was never a god. It's like calling Hercules a God when he's a Demi-God, he's still human. Being Enlightened, and being a God, are two different things.

Buddha is basically an ideal that humans can achieve through going on the path of "Enlightenment" that in practice, any human can become an ""Enlightened" one.

I just realised something, a lot of important deities haven’t appeared, the Chinese gods, Vishnu, etc. What if they’re part of the faction the secretly supports humans? Let’s not forget Hades, brother of Zeus and Poseidon, who may have not made a decisions due to being excluded by his brothers.

@cgr actually ebisu isn’t Buddhism, he is a Japanese god, his original name is hiruko, the child of izanagi and izanami, also a sibling to susanoo, who is also a contestant for the gods.

This fight will probably be very short, that's why we got a side-story.

Sheeva will obviously win (humans won twice in a row), and Raiden is really a fooder guy.

Can't wait for Odin fight. I love his crows.

@phil777 Budha is a title. Anyone who reach enlightenment can get that title. Gautama buddha, the one depicted in this story is a real historical figure, who is said to be the one who created budhism. His role is pretty much on the level of jesus-a messenger, so he is by no mean a god. Furthermore, unlike jesus who is said to be god's son. Gautama throughout his whole life never claim to have any tie to godhood. However, after he die and buddhism spread around the world, due to how inaccurate information get spreading around during that time. In some region, people started to refer to him as god and worship him like one( the biggest region who did this is china). Hence why he gain godhood in some place. But in his birthplace( Indian, Nepal, etc..) He is not considered to be a god, just a founder, messenger and enlightent men

The author likes to make one side seems to lose before making a comeback, then his opponent do the same again, and again.

So, too fast to judge if Shiva would lose. They want both the gods and humanity side to get excited over the match.

Oh yes, "Death, the destroyer of worlds" is being overwhelmed by a Japanese sumo wrestler.

@Siquall They are Ravens. Huginn and Muninn which mean "Thought" and "Memory". They are said to leave his shoulders every day and seek new information as Odin drank from the well of Knowledge at the cost of his eye and gained all the information up to that point. He is the god of Wisdom and War so he is always assumed to know everything in the universe at all times.
