It would've been cool if one of the human contestants was someone out of an American tall tale, like Paul Bunyan, Pecos Bill, or John The Conqueror. Or like mythical depictions of an American hero, like Davey Crockett and John Henry. But American folklore isn't really known outside of America, so I can't complain about the absence of these figures.
