SHY - Vol. 5 Ch. 39 - A Leader's Job

So Century takes what appears to be the heroes main fighting strength all in one team. Seems smart.

@Babydel
But it seems he got death flag as well.

Likely someone will die in this event.
Certainly it's either one of the heroes or some citizens as hostage

I doubt any will die, it just doesn't seem like that kind of story, but always up for being wrong.

I guess the nurse should stay outside because she's too important and needs to attend the people once they're out.... or maybe she needs to go inside to tend the people in panic? Is hard to say because we don't know how she "fights".

Stardust should get in of course, and probably that Chinese guy because Shy knows him ... Aah... now it's gonna look like Stardust is babysitting xP well who knows!

Getting riled up!! Interested to see how Shy handles this, I'm expecting a lot of stumbles.

Also, @Babydel , we've more or less been waiting for some death consequences since the resolution of the first big conflict with the "Casualties: 0" box suggesting that it wasn't always going to be that way. We haven't seen it since (at least in memory) so I'm also hoping by the time this arc concludes it will make a return so we can know that it will be a regular thing. Even though this is 40 chapters in at this point I get the feeling this arc will make or break what sort of manga this is trying to be.

No matter what, I still love reading this every week and I cannot get enough of the art style. Here's to hoping the excitement and anticipation continues to next week!

BRUH LMAO why are they letting all these fucking civilians into their fucking HQ?!?!?!! it makes ZERO fucking sense haha

A moment of inner peace before the battle:

Not gonna lie was hoping they'd let her pick Starman... I mean, Stardust into the team. C'mon, we had Spirits fight, why not David Bowie?!

@MrDarthGaber

It did that casualties thing once out of 39 chapters now (from a quick look through, might have missed another) I don't think it holds much relevance, also casualties can mean injured as well not just death.

@Serenata

Century already asked for Stardust to be on his team. Shy seems basically forced to have Lady Black and Mighty Dragon.

@Babydel There's around 200 countries in the world. I don't think the author would be this lazy and not try to introduce some new heroes specifically for this mission. And an infiltration mission in an unknown space with only three persons can't go well. I even believe Century choose the other two because he wants Shy to leave her comfort zone and expand her relationship with other heroes. Surely Meng Long will be on the team, but there was a Lucha inspired hero (Mexican?) featured in the very first chapter, so I believe he'll be properly introduced now.

I really just don't want Ai to be put on the team, she's a civilian after all. And she'll just find a way to enter the bubble anyway, it's her arc after all.

@RaimundoBruno

Spirit does mention other heroes, but only saying to warn them to stay vigilant and not asking for backup, so I don't see any reason why more would turn up right now. Would be nice to see more though.

I hope this turns into the plot of the Simpsons movie where Springfield is entirely encased in the dome. (That or this is the subspace emissary all over again...)

Also, I'm starting to ship Meng Long and Shy as a crack pairing, considering how they're both socially awkward as fuck and its adorable.

It's because he's waiting in the sky. He'd like to come and meet us, but he thinks he'd blow our minds. (Also, his circuit's dead. There's something wrong!) @Abedeus

really excited to see where this is going. . . i def think this will be the arc that sets everything up

"I want to enter our opponents base kinda thing that we have no idea what the hell is going on inside"

"Are you stupid?!?!?"

"Shut up bitch im japanese"
