In the novel Alejandro became the duke quite early to be able to start the doomed rebellion. Dead or alive, the duke ought to be out of the picture for good, unless Ibee actually changes that.

Pretty much my thoughts on this. Either there's something going on there that will only get revealed because of her involvement, or it will get revealed at some point after the novel was finished. Characters could get up to all kinds of things that the author never felt like writing about at that point.

My cousin had similar growth spurt like the male MC because he did a lot of sport and was exposed to the sun (never heard that too much sun tanning can make your skin grow older quicker?).
My cousin looked like a 21 years old young man at age of 16-17 years old. People thinking he is old enough invited him to party a lot... he grew up too fast for his own good, imo.
