Rereading the first chapter, it does say Alejandro fell in love with that princess due to her persistence in getting him to open up— so it’s already set up that she’ll be inserting herself into his life, if that’s where the story goes. My hope is that she turns out to be an actual good person and somehow becomes an ally for Alejandro and Ibelina, but with romance stories it’s hard to say how the female rival will end up

Once again, Ibelina is doing the right thing for the totally wrong reason. No, he's not gonna be happier with you suddenly gone. But yeah, you should pull away because he's kind of acting like a bratty child with you around and it's about time he learns the consequences of his actions.

I don't mind the princess plotline. Our MC has already deviated the plot, so seeing how it plays out would be interesting.
