Ibe finally said it, that he is just abusing his power over her without understanding her position. This situation is better overall, allows Alejandro to grow up a bit and hopefully he becomes a bit more aware of social standings which is honestly the cause of him originally starting that civil war. Alejandro in the novel was terribly deaf to social cues, standings and tact

The minor difference here is that even if the plot stays on track, Alejandro now has something else to lean on and not just wallow in despair. The original scenario hinges on him falling in love with the plot's MC and we already know that's not going to happen, anyway. The plot is fine right now, dont take everything at face value.

She really is too stupid. Alejandro is very pitiful. Realistically speaking the only problem is status, and that is a major one. So what probably will happen is that for some reason the truth about her lifting the curse comes out and she will rise in status to some kind of noble or a saint and all will be good. I don't really know why exactly the author has her clinging to that stupid plot despite wanting to change it and having obviously changed it. I hope this stupidity won't drag on for much longer, because I'd go insane.

I for one, cannot wait to future interactions between Alejandro, Eleanora and the Prince. I've got my suspicions that even if Ibelina was to be with Alejandro, the plot would have went along with only minor changes... There are details there and there that might be important.
But that's not an excuse for Ibelina thinking that it will go that way without knowing the last encounter Ale/Ele.
